Arthur C. Clarke Dies At Age 90

Well known and respected British author, Arthur C. Clarke passed away in Sri Lanka at the age of 90 of complications from post-polio syndrome. He is best known for his sci-fi novel 2001: A Space Odyssey. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Stanley Kubrick. He authored many more books, even pioneering a best selling computer game. Clarke was a WWII veteran serving in the Royal Air Force and later earned a degree in mathematics and physics. He developed the idea of geostational satellites that could be used for telecommunications. Many of his far reaching ideas will affect human kind for generations to come. Clarke was knighted for his contributions in 2000.
